Traditional Herbal Medicine

Traditional Herbal Medicine

Traditional Herbal Medicine has been practised for thousands of years in the East Asian region. It is also known as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Korean Medicine, and Traditional Japanese Medicine.

After a thorough consultation, a personalized herbal formula will be prescribed. Herbal prescriptions can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with acupuncture. They are great for boosting the healing process, supplementing tissues, and prolonging and strengthening the effects of acupuncture. Herbs are an additional cost to the consultation and come in a variety of forms ( pills, powders, topical plasters, and salves ). Please notify your practitioner of any food allergies and dietary restrictions.

Herbs consist of organic substances such as seeds, plants, flowers, roots, minerals etc.

It is different from Naturopath. The formula has been examined and used for thousands of years and is known to WHO as well.

Herbal medicine may not be a quick fix (not like a panadol!), because the aim is not only to treat the disease but to also restore the ability of the body to maintain its function.

The length of treatment will depend on the condition, how severe it is and how long it has been a problem. Generally, changes should be seen within four to six weeks, but in chronic cases, the length can be longer.

Diet and lifestyle advice is also provided, especially regarding things you may be doing that exacerbate the problem.

Granule Herbs

Granule herbal medicine is very similar to decoction herbal medicine. Each herb is decocted and granulated to the powder form with a certain ratio.
